MEDLIFE is proud to announce that we are currently accepting applications for our Summer 2010 Internship.  The MEDLIFE Internship provides both undergraduates and graduates alike the opportunity to provide needed assistance to MEDLIFE’s operations in Peru and Ecuador.  Working directly with our team of full-time employees, interns will witness firsthand the myriad health and social issues faced by MEDLIFE’s patients.  Intern activities will likely include preparing for and leading MEDLIFE’s medical missions, shadowing surgeons at a local hospital, and teaching English to underprivileged youth, among other responsibilities.  Additionally, MEDLIFE interns are privy to the unique benefits that come from living and working in a foreign country: the chance to hone Spanish skills, deepen cultural understandings, and explore the varied sceneries that make up Ecuador and Peru.

This Summer, MEDLIFE is offering two internships in Ecuador and two in Peru.  Interns will have the option of serving anywhere between one to three months, as their schedule allows. Applications are open to both undergrads and recent graduates.  Please submit completed applications, as well as any further inquiries, to MEDLIFE Intern Coordinator Tommy Flint at tflint@medlifeweb.org.  APPLICATION DEADLINE IS MARCH 25.  MEDLIFE will cover housing expenses for the duration of your internship.

Experienced MEDLIFE members (and/or college graduates with specialized knowledge/relevant experience) may apply to MEDLIFE’s Project-based Internship program, in which the majority of the intern’s time will be dedicated towards achieving a specific project related to MEDLIFE’s aims of delivering health, education, and developmental aid.  Please complete the standard application and contact the Intern Coordinator regarding your interest in this program.
