Airfare and Arrival

A MEDLIFE representative will contact you regarding the purchase of airfare once you have applied to a Mobile Clinic.  

MEDLIFE often works with an individual travel agent to coordinate the purchase of tickets for all participants so that everyone arrives within the scheduled time frame.  Once we have finalized our list of participants, the travel agent will work to find the lowest price airfare for the group and will get in touch with all students with the projected itinerary, and request that payment towards the airfare be made.

For some Clinics, participants are required to search for and purchase airfare on their own, as per the instructions of a MEDLIFE representative.

If you will be arriving and/or departing from the country at dates other than those posted for the Mobile Clinic, please let the contacting MEDLIFE representative know.  Do not purchase your own airfare unless you have received specific approval to do so from a MEDLIFE representative.  Participants who purchase their own airfare and who do not arrive within the specified of the rest of the group (as scheduled by our travel agent or MEDLIFE representative) may be subject to a monetary fee of up to $50 to cover the expense of picking them up individually from the airport.  Participants who arrive more than 24 hours prior to the rest of the group may have to arrange their own transportation to the hotel at which the group is staying.

A MEDLIFE employee will meet all participants arriving within the scheduled time frame (as announced by our travel agent and/or representative) at the airport, and transport them to our hotel.

For all Mobile Clinics in Ecuador, participants will fly into the international airport in Quito.  MEDLIFE will transport participants via private bus to their Mobile Clinic locations in Riobamba or Tena (both 4-5 hour travel time from Quito).

For Mobile Clinics in Cuzco, MEDLIFE will arrange the purchase of a flight from Lima (to which all participants must fly) to Cuzco.
