Promoting local primary care providers to bring preventative health education and curative treatment to people living in poverty who live in marginalized, rural or areas that otherwise prevent their access to quality medical care. Donate to a specific student or campaign
Donations received on behalf of students participating in a MEDLIFE Brigade to Ecuador or Peru earn that student a discount in the participation fee equal to 50% of the donation - not the entire donation. These donations go towards MEDLIFE's Mission Fund, which covers all our operational expenses in running Mobile Clinics and conducting patient follow-up care. Our intent is to make participating in a medical brigade accessible to anyone who is interested while also raising money for our year-round work.
In accordance with the spirit of charitable donations (and IRS regulations regarding tax deductible donations), 50% of donation given to the 50:50 campaign in support of a particular student's participation in a mobile clinic is given a the status of "tax deductible." According to IRS regulation any donation that directly defers the expense of a mobile clinic participant cannot be considered tax deductible.
